             C31 ISSUE NO. 14 Standardized Medical Intelligence Preventive Medicine

          (SGHR ITEM NO. 17)

           BACKGROUND: Each MTF is required to provide deploying forces with preventive
           health data. The level of detail and contents of these briefings varies.

            DISCUSSION: Brooks AFB/SGPM developed a handout that combines health
            recommendations with other tips for theater survival. Although only one
            example, the information was a valuable aid to deployed personnel. Such
            initiative should be strongly encouraged.

            RECOMMENDATION: Development of similar materials be encouraged and expanded
            upon. AFR 28-4 can be expanded to include numerous additional "recommended"
            personal mobility items.

           ACTIONS REQUIRED: SGHR appoint a POC to ensure appropriate emphasis is placed
           on medical intelligence function.

            ACTIONS COMPLETED: SGHR has appointed a POC for guidance and emphasis on
            medical intelligence.

            STATUS: Closed.
