 C31 and TRAINING CATEGORY

           C31 ISSUE NO. 10 Is the ASF an AE Asset or a Hospital Asset?

           (SGHR ITEMS NOs. 68, 80, 81)

           DISCUSSION: ASF staffs did not loose their peacetime identity and there was
           confusion whether ASFs worked for the AE for the MTF. If ASF assigned to AD
           AE structure there may be a disconnect. ASF should stay under the MTF. Need
           to define MTF and ASF roles. If an ASF is located with an MTF it should stay
           attached to the MTF. If ASF is deployed it does not need to be attached to
           the MTF.

           RECOMMENDATION: Determine who ASFs should work for and educate personnel on
           the system. '

           ACTION REQUIRED: AMC incorporated changes to ensure ASFs have a place to fit
           into the system and be appropriately utilized.

           ACTIONS COMPLETED: New AE structure aligns deployed ASFs under the AE system.
