(3) Control Centers with MBA1 Alarm will report alarm
(4) Chemical monitoring teams may be deployed during Alarm
Yellow, at the discretion of the Wing Commander. Monitoring will
begin following an attack.
(5) Staplexes will be deployed concurrently with M8A1's.
(6) Reporting by Facility Monitors is mandatory following
an attack.
b. Tasking:
(1) ABOS/AON will: -
(a) Maintain all assigned chemical monitoring equipment
including M256 Kits, CAM's, and M8A1 Alarms according to applica-
ble AF Technical Orders (T.O.). -
(b) Ensure assigned personnel are fully qualified to
operate assigned monitoring equipment.
(c) Provide training to personnel listed in Appendix A
and B.
(d) Coordinate with the other military units on all
matters pertaining to NBC operations.
(e) Upon initial deployment, set up M8A1 Alarms and
purge the M8A1's when necessary (approximately every 5-6 hours of
continuous operations).
(f) Issue M8/M9 paper/tape to units when directed by
the Wing Commander.
(2) Unit Facility Monitors will report the condition of any
M8 or M9 paper/tape and other relevant information following an
attack to the SRC thru their Control Center or appropriate depu-
ty.
(3) Control Centers listed in Appendix A as M8A1 alarm
stations will:
(a) Ensure shift personnel are trained on operating and
monitoring M8A1 Alarms. Contact ABOS/AON regarding training.
(b) Perform operational checks and filter changes
hourly on assigned M8A1 Alarms.
(c) Contact ABOS/AON through the SRC if M8AI fails
operational check or if operational check cannot be performed
hourly. -
