                                      PREFACE

            
             		 This monograph was written following extensive interviews
             conducted by the author and David G. Lanfear, HQ AFRES historians, with
             personnel of the 94th Tactical Airlift Wing (TAW). Supporting documents
             were also gathered from various sources. It is intended ultimately for
             incorporation into a larger study of Air Force Reserve operations at Sharjah.
            
             		The 94 TAW Public Affairs Office and the 440th Tactical Airlift
             Group Historian provided the photographs, the originals of which are on file
             at HQ AFRES/HO.
