File: aabmf_25.txthubs remaining operational. With the conclusion of the ground campaign and the subsequent redeployment of forces, daily Samaritan mission requirements decreased from four to one. That mission was scheduled to the various locations as needed. Three AELTs remained operational to coordinate airlift requirements for ground forces. Four tactical crews remained at Thumrait and six remained at King Fahd IAP to support urgent requirements, as well as the Samaritan mission. Initially, ten strategic crews were kept at King Khalid Military City and King Fahd IAP. They were phased down to three crews at King Fahd IAP to support urgent missions originating in the AOR. All other strategic AE missions were crewed from Ramstein. Daily preplanned C-141 missions were established for the two active AE strategic hubs. The missions were preconfigured with equipment and comfort pallet. Finally, two MASFs, with personnel and equipment, were prepositioned at King Khalid Military City for contingency purposes. The redeployment of the remaining operational AELTS was concurrent with the phasedown of the theater JMRO function. 13. Redeployment and Transition. On 4 March, the COMALF directed the 1611 AES(P) to begin redeployment. Since opportune aircraft were readily available, tactical and strategic crews identified as being excess to theater needs were redeployed immediately. The redeployment process was based on the principle of "first in, first out" whenever possible. Those personnel who were unable to depart via opportune airlift were redeployed by unit line number in accordance with the time-phased force deployment document (TPFDD). As of 31 March, we had moved over 12,600 patients on 671 missions in support of Operation DESERT SHIELD/STORM (see Table 11). On 7 April, command and control of the AE force remaining in the AOR was assumed by replacement active duty and ARC personnel from EUCOM.
